The Austrian glass manufacturer Ertl Glass opened the subsidiary Ertl Glass Steklo, choosing southern Slovenian township of Ribnica as it seat. The investment worth 7.54 million euros, the largest new foreign industrial investment, also received the largest share of funding ( 1.53 million euros) from the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Entrepreneurship and Foreign Investment (JAPTI). The project has been closely linked to the glass manufacturer’s partnership with Ribnica- based company Incles, Slovenia’s largest manufacturer of windows involves the construction of a 5000 square meter production facility, projected to employ a total of 100 persons by 2013.
52 ANNUAL SEMINAR ON GLASS: BEADS ,LIFE, TRADE, RITUAL.
In two day format, this year’s Annual Seminar on Glass, will feature lectures and live demonstrations focused around the topics represented in the Museums major exhibition, “ Life on a String: 35 c3nturies of the Glass Bead “. This unique exhibition explores glass beads created and used by diverse cultures across the globe and throughout history. It is explores the uses go glass beads for fashion and ornament, as symbols of power and wealth, as traded goods, and as objects used in ritual ceremonies.
Hears expert such as Robert Liu, editor of Omament magazine, and bead maker Kristina Logan discuss historical beads, techniques and made in West Africa, 190s French fashion, and more. Seminarians will also have on opportunity to make their own bead.

The program offer kids the opportunity to experience glass through storytelling, music, crafts and much more. Families explore program focus on specific cultures and themes in the Museum’s collection through hands 0n activities and performances.
